• Only 10-15 percent of laughter is the result of someone making a joke. It’s mostly about social responses.
• No matter what language a person speaks, he/she laughs basically the same way.
• Each “ha” of a laugh is about 1/15th of a second.
• Laughter doesn’t depend on one single sense, which is evident from the fact that deaf people laugh even though they can’t hear, and people laugh on the telephone without seeing the person on the other end.
• Think humans are the only animals who laugh? Think again! Even apes, dogs, and rats can laugh.
